We have made a host of travel information available on our website which we hope you will find helpful, and encourage you to plan your visit in an environmentally-friendly way.
We’re centrally-located with excellent public transport links. See our Plan Your Visit page to view the numerous options available – including details on bus routes, directions from Liverpool train stations, and more.
Plan to arrive 20 minutes before concert time, so you can take your seat, turn off your mobile phone, take a look at your surroundings and absorb the atmosphere. You won't be alone - most concert-goers make a point of coming early to have a drink in the Grand Foyer Bar or Music Room Bar.
For Hall events, lift access to the Grand Circle, Upper Circle and Rear Circle is prohibited until the auditorium doors open. However, the Grand Foyer Bar will be accessible via lift.
Please be aware that ticket holders are only allowed access in to the building once all pre-concert fire and safety checks have been completed and the stewards are in position to check tickets. Entry is not allowed without a valid ticket.
If you are meeting someone who has your ticket, please arrange to meet at a location outside the building.
We have standard house rules for all events at Liverpool Philharmonic venues.
We work closely with external promoters and organisers to ensure high standards during events. The promoter or organiser may request specific policies to be in place on the day of the event on behalf of the performing artist. In the event of this, the requested policies will supersede our house policies.
You can find a full list of house rules on our Plan your visit page.
Our Grand Foyer Bar (lift accessible) is open for snacks and drinks from one hour prior to each performance. Alternatively you can order drinks in advance to enjoy at your seat.
Only snacks bought from our bar and cloakroom will be allowed into the venue, with the exception of bottled water.
For selected events in the Hall, drinks purchased from the Grand Foyer Bar will be allowed into the auditorium, except red wine, during the performance. Please ask a member staff on your arrival if the performance is ‘drinks in’.
For events in the Music Room, drinks purchased from the bar will be allowed into the main space during the performance.
Please be aware that our bars close after the interval.
The cloakroom in the Hall is located on the left-hand side of the foyer, next to the stairs. There is a charge of £1 per item. Large bags are subject to security checks before being checked in to the cloakroom.
For Music Room events a coat rack is available in the entrance area.
The length of performances in the Hall and the Music Room vary from show to show. If you would like timings for an event, please contact customer services via our Contact Us page.
Please be advised that we may not have timings until at least one week prior to the event. However, our venue curfew is 11pm so all concerts finish before this time.
A steward will wait with you until an appropriate break in the performance and show you to either your seats or the nearest available seats if time is limited. You can then move to your booked seats at the interval.
We strive to be as accessible as possible to all and have been awarded Gold by Attitude is Everything, one of only nine music venues nationally to have achieved this highest standard. For more information about our accessibility, please see our Accessibility page.
We appreciate audience members may wish to stand or dance during a performance. Please consider this when booking your tickets for an event. The Duty Manager will make the final decision on the day of the event as to whether this is appropriate. However, please be aware that the venue standing/dancing policy may be overruled on the day of the performance by the performance's promoter.
For an event in Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, if you would prefer to be seated throughout you are advised to book box seats. Please note for safety reasons, aisles must be kept clear at all times and audience members should not move from their seats to stand/dance in front of the stage.
The Music Room is a flexible space that caters to a variety of performances. The space allows for both seated and standing events. Therefore, standing/dancing is not permitted unless the event is a standing event.
You can find a full list of house rules on our Plan your visit page.

We appreciate that audience members want to capture memories of their favourite artists. Our house photography and filming policy is that photography and filming is allowed as long as it’s not excessive and no flash photography is permitted.
However, please be aware that the venue house policy may be overruled on the day of the performance by the promoter or organiser. You can find a full list of house rules on our Plan your visit page.
For the safety of visitors and audience members, we will have security staff in the building and various security measures will be in place during your visit. Please see our ‘Safety and Security’ section in our terms and conditions for full details.
We advise that under 16s are accompanied by an adult (18+). Please note that Liverpool Philharmonic cannot be held responsible for your children if unaccompanied by an adult, and parental discretion applies to all events.
If there is an age restriction in place for an event, this will be published online and in our brochures, wherever possible.
We will advise on any special effects in our pre-concert emails and on our venue screens on the day of the event, wherever possible.
We may not be aware of lighting effects, smoke, haze, pyrotechnics, dry ice, etc or/and the extent of their use until the day of the performance. The use of special effects is at the discretion of the promoter or organiser.
