Young people are at the heart of everything we do at Liverpool Philharmonic
'Love Music: From the First Note' is our campaign in support of all our music education work with young people, including Schools' Concerts, In Harmony Liverpool and Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Company. With your help, we can achieve even more, reaching out to more young people, more families and more schools.
We know first-hand that our activities support children’s mental health, and build confidence, pride and skills to help children live happier, healthier lives, with improved employability and broadened horizons.
With your support, we will ensure all children can make music with Liverpool Philharmonic, regardless of their financial situation.

Introducing live orchestral music to 18,000 school children each year.
The thrill of hearing a full symphony orchestra for the first time can be the spark that ignites a lifelong love of music, inspiring children to broaden their horizons and take part in music making.
In Harmony Liverpool uses orchestral music-making to improve the life chances of children. Every week, over 1,500 children learn an orchestral instrument, sing, compose, perform in orchestras, (both in and out of school), and play at major concert venues, including Liverpool Philharmonic Hall.
In Harmony is targeted at children with the greatest need and fewest resources – over 40% of In Harmony children are classed as living in poverty.
With your support, we will increase our reach to 1,750 children by 2024, focusing on additional investment in teenagers. This activity will revitalise their musical development, encouraging pathways to further education and employment.
"In Harmony has been a light in dark times. It is the oxygen we need.” Community Leader
From our Youth Orchestra and Choirs, to our Music Industry Careers days, apprenticeship programmes and work with young composers, nurturing talent is a responsibility that we take very seriously.
To ensure the broadest range of opportunity for our 500 Youth Company musicians, we are creating new ensembles including a new cambiata choir for young male voices, a brass band and session bands, so our musicians can experience playing music from every genre.
With your help we will offer 100% bursaries to everyone who needs assistance, enabling children from all backgrounds to achieve their musical potential.
