LUMA Quintet

LUMA Quintet is led by Chilean brothers Francisco and Oscar Carrasco, who have toured internationally with renowned artists such as Bheki Mseleku and Thebe Lipere. In the late eighties they led Tiempo Libre, and have developed many musical projects along the way.

The quintet perform popular songs from South and Central America and the Caribbean - they perform a range of musical genres such as Cumbia, Merengue, Andean, Son, Joropo and Chacarera with songs from legends of Latin America such as Victor Jara, Juan Luis Guerra, Mercedes Sosa and Ruben Blades.

LUMA Quintet will take you on an exciting journey of the continent’s vibrant and diverse musical heritage; bringing together a variety of traditional and contemporary instruments with melodies and rhythms that tell their own stories.
