Violist Sarah Hill joined the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra back in 2005. Originally from London, Sarah studied at the Royal Northern College of Music with Richard Ireland, before starting her career as Principal Viola in the Orquestra do Algarve over in Portugal. She says that every day with the Orchestra has been a career highlight but has particularly enjoyed international tours and the Orchestra’s fabulous performances during the 2008 City of Culture celebrations.
Sarah is also a member of the Liverpool String Quartet and teaches music in her spare time.
Fun Fact:
When Sarah is not on stage, you’ll find her painting, practising tai chi, looking after her rabbits Binky and Paco, heading off on walks (preferably ones with a pub in the middle) and spending time with family.
