Nigel Dufty

Double Bass
Adopted by Michael & Stephanie Griffith

Nigel is from Bristol, inspired by his parents who both love music, he started playing the guitar and by 10 years old had also begun learning the double bass. Nigel remembers having to stand on a box in order to play!

Nigel trained at Trinity College of Music in London with Kevin Rundell, and after graduating he came straight to Liverpool to join the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic. Some highlights during this time include playing bass guitar at the James Bond concert at Leeds Castle in Kent and exploring Japan when on tour.

Outside of the Orchestra Nigel teaches double bass and guitar at Bluecoat School and does freelance design work.

Fun Fact:
When not making music Nigel can be found on long walks with his cockapoo Dougal or looking after his many houseplants.
