The iconic Hope Street music venue is opening its doors for a day full of music, showcasing everything Liverpool Philharmonic has to offer – from world-class orchestral performances to grassroots music and homegrown talent.
Making a special guest appearance is Liverpool’s own piano sensation Brad Kella, alongside a surprise performance from a local legend – to be revealed on the day.
The crowning jewel of the city – the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra – will be performing three mini-concerts featuring classical favourites and music from the movies . Over in grassroots venue the Music Room, back-to-back sets will take place from local artists curated by some of Liverpool’s most exciting music organisations.

It’s the perfect opportunity for anyone who hasn’t yet been to Liverpool Philharmonic to come and see what we’re all about - free of charge. We want all of our performances – from star soloists to our world class Orchestra - to feel wide open to everyone. The mini-concerts that feature throughout the day give all visitors a chance to experience the full power of a symphony orchestra in a relaxed setting. Smaller gigs which celebrate 10 years of hosting diverse artists and partners in the Music Room - our smaller grassroots venue - includes special guests and intimate gigs with homegrown talent. Music Room 10
The Open Day also marks the beginning of Music Room 10, a special concert series celebrating a decade of Liverpool Philharmonic’s beloved grassroots venue. Running until 13 October, the programme features unique performances from global artists and local favourites, including: Barbara Dickson, Ian Prowse, Tom Robinson, Catfish Keith, Baked A la Ska, a festival from Latin America with the Antonio Monasterio Ensemble and folk sessions with musicians from across the home nations. There will also be special appearances by members of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra in new and unexpected musical collaborations.
