Lulo Reinhardt & Yuliya Lonskaya

Guitarists Lulo Reinhardt and Yuliya Lonskaya present their first recording together. Piece of Soul is a celebration of several musical styles, embracing ‘gypsy meets classical’ and featuring new arrangements of iconic classical guitar works and several world premieres too.

Lulo Reinhardt, great-nephew of the legendary Django, is an award-winning Sinti (as against Roma) guitarist. A big name on international stages, he performs a mixture of gypsy jazz, flamenco and South American rhythms. Today he is one of the most important, authentic and unmistakable ‘voices’ in Sinti music. He has dedicated his life to music and the guitar. At age five, he was introduced to the family tradition of mastering the instrument by his late father Bawo Reinhardt. Over the years, Lulo has broadened his musical horizons and immersed himself in the music of other cultures. Today he tends towards a fusion of styles – flamenco, Latin and Brazilian jazz – always with a nod to his gypsy influences.

Belarusian artist Yuliya Lonskaya makes hearts beat faster with the brilliance and versatility of her guitar playing. She studied at music schools in Germany and Italy, and has gone on to perform alongside several prestigious orchestras. Yuliya has toured across Europe, and North America, and was the first Belarusian guitarist on the stage of the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow. Yuliya Lonskaya has a fresh and unique style with her own classic, folk, jazz and bossa nova arrangements.
