Ian Bracken

Cello
Adopted by an anonymous patron

I joined the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra in 1992 on the very same day that I completed my postgraduate course at the Guildhall School of Music.

During this time, I have been actively involved in all the Orchestra's major education and outreach programmes. I have also represented Liverpool Philharmonic on both the football and cricket pitch!

When I'm not playing the cello I'm most likely to be found outside either walking, struggling with my allotment or paddle boarding with my wife Hilary, fellow Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra cellist. Either that or studying my cookery books with a glass of red in hand!

Fun Fact:
My career as a musician has enabled me to see a lot of the world and to meet three members of the Royal family, Princess Diana, Queen Elizabeth 2nd and Prince Phillip!
