The largest music careers event in the North West returns, with industry powerhouses ready to share their vast experience and how they got to where they are.
Top music organisations including Sentric, BBC, UK Music, PPL, Small Green Shoots, PLASA and Adlib will be on hand, sharing advice and helping you find a path to success in the music industry. A Sound Start: Introductions to Careers in the Music Industry for Secondary School Students

Specially curated for secondary school aged musicians and creatives (and their families), this morning session is the perfect starting point for discovering careers in music. We’ll bust myths about the industry and help you find your creative pathway forward.
You’ll hear from keynote speaker Natasha Hamilton (formerly of Atomic Kitten and founder of Morpho Records) about getting started in the music industry and the endless career options on offer.

Music Industry Myth Busting: Separating fact from fiction and showing how passion for music can lead to real, achievable careers.
More than the music: It’s not just about talent. Learn the skills you can start developing at school that help musicians succeed in the real world.
Sustainability in the music industry: Learn to build a career that supports wellbeing, protects the planet, and improves the future of the music industry for all.
Careers in music tech: Discover the growing jobs shaping how music is made, performed, and shared—from sound and stage tech to software, AI, and digital tools—and how young people can start building skills now.

The afternoon session is perfect for those who are in higher education or training, early on in their music industry career, or perhaps considering a career change into the industry.
The keynote Q&A will be with English songwriting powerhouse, and Liverpool local legend, Guy Chambers.

Music broadcasting 101: Learn about what goes on behind the mis, how to get started, and explore how artists juggle broadcasting with gigs, releases, and other creative work.
Creating music as a career: Learn what composers really do day‑to‑day, what skills matter beyond making music, and how to get your work out there while protecting your rights.

Music Careers Marketplace
We’ll be hosting our Music Careers Marketplace, where attendees will have the opportunity to chat to representatives from leading music organisations and employers. The Music Careers Marketplace will be specially tailored across the morning and afternoon sessions, but organisations and employers such as BBC, Help Musicians, Future Yard, Glyndebourne Academy, JAMES, LIPA Music Mark, Musician’s Union, PPL, RNCM, UK Music & Discover! Creative Careers and Young Sounds UK will be in attendance all day. The morning session will also feature organisations including City of Liverpool College, Edge Hill University, LMA, SAE & ICMP and The WRD, while the afternoon session will feature DITTO and The Creative Well, among others.
