Ian Prowse’s Monday Club at the Cavern is the stuff of legend, and Ian himself is a legend in the Music Room. So it only makes sense that we combine the two as part of our Music Room 10 celebrations. Ian Prowse – the Music Room’s most frequent performer – joins us to present a curated showcase of some of his favourite artists in a very special edition of the Monday Club.
Now 14 years old, calling Monday Club a mere open mic night just doesn't cover it. The night has a strict ethos of ‘no cover versions allowed’, throwing its doors open to all artists, poets, full bands, comedians and even once hosting a short play! Master of ceremonies Ian Prowse has presided over 14,000 separate performances at the club and countless memorable nights of musical mayhem, often seeing established names such as Dr. Robert, Miles Hunt, Red Rum Club and Guy Chambers drop by.
No visitor to the night comes away without Barry Jones famous ‘Hide The Sausage’ song embedded in their brain – his classic chip shop punch up song has revellers bellowing out the words week in week out – and tonight he’ll be taking to the stage alongside the stunning voice of Niamh Jones, the political poetry of David Jinx Johnson and many other Monday Club favourites.

In this brand new show, Lee shares his stage with a tough-talking werewolf comedian from the dark forests of North America who hates humanity. The Man-Wulf lays down a ferocious comedy challenge to the culturally irrelevant and enfeebled Lee.
