BlackFest 2019 Celebration Night

Join BlackFest for their special Celebration Night at the end of BlackFest 2019 city festival and to look to the future as we enter Black History Month with remembrance, celebration, peace and love.

The line-up includes community performances and entertainment to bring everybody together to celebrate the multicultural city we live in.

Performances are to include the Wavertree Community Gospel Choir -  a multi-faith and multi-generational choir. The choir’s repertoire includes Gospel and uplifting popular music. BlackFest are also excited to be presenting Kaos, showcasing a performance piece ‘Mabida - He lives in you...' a celebration of song and dance inspired by the life and legacy of Nelson Mandela. Kaos is a social enterprise based in Liverpool 8. Working with young people, families and community to inspire positive development through the creative and performing arts, Kaos produce inclusive educational workshops and events for everyone to enjoy and provide opportunities for creative growth and social change.

Other performers taking part include local artist Ni (jazz singer), Viv (RnB/ soul singer), Mike Egbe (spoken word) and comedy sketches with Merv Jones. Blackfest are also delighted to announce that their youngest performer, Lucianna, will be taking to the stage.

Once performances have taken place, DJ Mervyn Lynch will have you on your feet as the celebration continues.

So come and rejoice with everyone at BlackFest Celebration Night!
