Film with Live Orchestra
One of the most successful film franchises of the last decade, The Hunger Games comes to Liverpool Philharmonic for a unique cinematic concert experience.
Presented in stunning HD via a giant screen, The Hunger Games’ renowned and imposing soundtrack will be brought to life with a full symphony orchestra, The Novello Orchestra. Composed by James Newton Howard, who has scored over 100 films, and has been awarded a Grammy Award, an Emmy Award, and eight Academy Award Nominations for his work, the emphatic score for The Hunger Games is as magnificent as it is bold.
Based on the successful trilogy of young adult fiction books by Suzanne Collins, the film is set in a dystopian, post-apocalyptic future, telling story of Katniss Everdeen, who takes part in the Hunger Games – a televised competition in which the twelve districts of the country of Panem choose a person at random to fight to the death.
Having grossed an unprecedented $694million worldwide, The Hunger Games has won many awards - not least for the breakout performance by Jennifer Lawrence, including Best Actress at the MTV Movie Awards. The star-studded cast also features Josh Hutcherson, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Lenny Kravitz, Stanley Tucci, Toby Jones, and Donald Sutherland.
