80th Birthday Celebration of Liverpool Philharmonic Hall and The Wizard of Oz U

Join us for a special screening of the classic film, The Wizard of Oz (premiered in 1939) and a celebration of the 80th birthday of our beloved Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, which opened 80 years ago on 19 June 1939 in all its Art-Deco glory.

We’ll have Wizard-themed cocktails on the bar, our own Judy Garland and characters from the film making their appearance, and staff in period costumes – and if you’d like, you’re invited to dress up as a character from the film!

Proceeds from this event will support the restoration of the historic Rushworth & Dreaper organ at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall. The organ will be played pre-screening, as usual, by the inimitable Dave Nicholas.

Emerald City package – limited availability

£49 (includes box ticket, pre-screening reception and complimentary glass of fizz on arrival)

Make your way to the ‘Emerald City’ (Music Room) from 6pm for a pre-screening reception featuring Wizard of Oz themed canapes (including Aunty Em Pulled Pork on Kansas Corn Bread, Rainbow Crudités, Emerald Pea Hummus, and Ruby Red Meat Balls followed by Yellow Brick Rocky Road and Mini Rainbow cupcakes) and a free glass of fizz on arrival.

There’ll be a live performance of songs from the era and our own Judy Garland and characters from the film making their appearance. Order your Wizard-themed cocktails from your exclusive box seats in the interval.

Please note this is not a film with live orchestra concert.
