Ceòl Na H-Alba: A Celebration of Scottish Folk Music
Celebrating the Music Room’s rich history of championing folk music – and continuing our tour of incredible traditional music from across the home nations – we’re heading north of the border. This afternoon, we’re welcoming back some of Scotland’s finest folk artists – the multi award-winning RURA and, appearing in the Music Room for the fifth time, Siobhan Miller.
With three heralded albums, RURA are one of Scotland’s most sought-after folk bands. Their exquisitely rugged yet refined blend of fiddle, Highland pipes, flute, bodhran and guitar has won a devoted following in many corners of the globe. RURA’s entrancing instrumentals have been a main stage highlight at many of the world’s leading folk festivals, including Cambridge, Tønder, Woodford, Winnipeg and several appearances at Glasgow’s Celtic Connections. Renowned for cinematic arrangements that draw from people and landscapes throughout Scotland, their spellbinding live show is not to be missed.
A richly celebrated Scottish folk singer and songwriter, Siobhan Miller’s soulful and stirring renewal of traditional song has won her the BBC Radio 2 Folk Award for Best Traditional Track, and the BBC Alba Scots Trad Music Awards’ Scots Singer of the Year an unprecedented four times, whilst all five of her solo releases – including 2022’s acclaimed Bloom – have been shortlisted for BBC Alba STMA Album of the Year. With her “delicate, nourishing vocals and lyrically rich compositions” (The List), Siobhan has been a regular performer at Glasgow’s Celtic Connections festival and featured amidst the star-studded 2022 Transatlantic Sessions line-up.

In this brand new show, Lee shares his stage with a tough-talking werewolf comedian from the dark forests of North America who hates humanity. The Man-Wulf lays down a ferocious comedy challenge to the culturally irrelevant and enfeebled Lee.
