Vivian Stanshall's Sir Henry at Rawlinson End
In December 1978 Vivian Stanshall - lead singer of The Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band - recorded his masterwork Sir Henry at Rawlinson End. An LP honed over many Peel Sessions thanks to the patience of the host and producer John Walters.
In 2010 it was revived by Liverpool actor and musician Michael Livesley as a stage show, which won an armada of 5 star reviews in the national press and the approval of Viv’s celebrity fans including Stephen Fry who said 'Michael Livesley embodies to perfection the spirit and brilliance of Vivian Stanshall and adds his own measure of outrageous talent too.'
To celebrate its 40th anniversary Livesley and his band will once more reanimate the heroically drunk Sir Henry and the other grotesques who inhabit Rawlinson End featuring Bonzo Rodney ‘Rhino’ Slater on saxophone.
