Prokofiev Symphony No.1 ‘Classical'
Ravel Le Tombeau de Couperin
Mendelssohn Symphony No.4 ‘Italian’
Domingo Hindoyan conductor
Another chance to hear Hindoyan with the Orchestra, this time with Mendelssohn’s ‘Italian’ Symphony, a tour of the sights, sounds and dances of Italy. Mendelssohn described it as ‘the jolliest piece I have so far written…and the most mature thing I have ever done’.
So whilst travel may not be easy this year, sit back and enjoy a journey through Mendelssohn’s Italy, Ravel’s sophisticated France and Prokofiev’s Russian countryside.
