Karl Jenkins Palladio
ElgarSerenade for Strings
Sibelius Andante Festivo
Mendelssohn String Symphony No.7 in D minor
Rebecca Tong conductor
Written 25 years ago, this work by Karl Jenkins was influenced by the wonderful 16th century Italian architect, Andreas Palladio. The piece reflects the perfect balance and precision found in his buildings (and we know you’ll go home with the tune in your head). A work which immediately summons an image of English countryside is Elgar’s Serenade for Strings. Did you know that the first public UK performance was given in New Brighton? Today the Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Orchestra strings are conducted by Rebecca Tong, recent winner of the La Maestra International Conducting competition.
Please note the capacity is very limited (c. 330 seats total) and seating will be done on a socially distanced (2 metre) basis. To book single tickets please call the Box Office on 0151 709 3789.
