CREOLOGY TOUR

Carmen Souza, Theo Pascal & Elias Kacomanolis

An audition back in 1999 to one of Theo Pascal’s groups marked the beginning of Carmen Souza’s career as a singer.

After that Theo Pascal helped forge the talent of Carmen Souza and together they have created a body of original music to be included in all Souza’s albums. With this work Souza has become the only female Cape Verdean artist, in the musical history of this country, to have composed, co-produced and executed on piano, guitar and vocals a complete original repertoire combining the local Creole dialect, the traditional rhythms of the islands and jazz.

Carmen Souza is a pioneer in the Cape Verdean music and has won 2 Cabo Verde Music Awards for 'Best Female Artist' and 'Best Morna' and has been nominated in several other International Awards.

Theo Pascal has been included in the list of best bass players in Portugal from the last 30 years. His unique sound has travelled around the world and has been acclaimed by both critics and audiences.

Carmen Souza - vocals, guitar & piano
Theo Pascal – ebass & double bass
