Join us for a special evening that combines the magic of music, history, and philanthropy.
On 27 January 1914, the renowned composer and pianist, Sergei Rachmaninov, took to the stage at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, delivering a mesmerising performance of his Piano Concerto No. 2. The event left the Liverpool crowd in awe, with one reviewer describing it as "a wonder and a delight".
Now, 100 years later, we aim to recreate that sense of wonder and delight by presenting a private open rehearsal of Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No. 2, conducted by Domingo Hindoyan with pianist Nobuyuki Tsujii and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. This will be the final rehearsal of this concerto before they perform it again on their tour to Japan. The concerto will be performed in full as if in concert.
Tickets include a welcome reception of a glass of fizz and canapes in the Grand Foyer followed by the performance at 7.30pm. All profits from this event will support the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra's Japan tour, and the Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Orchestra tour of Italy in Summer 2024.
Please note that availability is extremely limited due to the intimate nature of this event, so early booking is encouraged.
