Shéhérazade

Elgar: In The South

Ravel: Shéhérazade

Bartók: Concerto for Orchestra

Vasily Petrenko: conductor

Measha Brueggergosman: mezzo soprano

Ravel’s glittering showpiece Shéhérazade transports us to the exotic time and place of The Arabian Nights. To save her life the heroine entertains her husband with nightly tales of shipwrecks, thieves, and royals. Sensuous and shimmering, it’s a thrilling musical adventure! Bartók’s most popular orchestral work, the Concerto for Orchestra was premiered in Europe by the orchestra.
