Any questions?

Here’s a few frequently asked questions that’ll help you make the most of your time at the Phil. We hope we’ve got everything covered below to make your experience as smooth as possible, but just call our Box Office on 0151 709 3789 or email ticketing@liverpoolphil.com if there’s anything else you’re not sure about.

The concert I want to attend is sold out! Is there any way to get tickets?

Well, there might still be hope! Each sold out event has a waiting list – call Box Office on 0151 709 3789 to join the queue and they’ll let you know if any seats become available.

Or you can ask our Box Office team if any tickets have been returned through the Phil’s resale scheme – this won’t include any tickets from external ticket agencies and you’ll only be able to find out about these seats over the phone or if you pop in to see us.

What is Secure My Booking – Booking Protect?

For a small charge, you can add Secure My Booking to your order and receive a full ticket refund if you can’t make an event due to circumstances outside your control. If you’d like to make a claim, check the T&Cs then fill in the form. Just to note, Secure My Booking is totally separate from the Phil and not managed by our team at all.

Why do you charge a booking fee?

The booking fee covers the costs of providing our Box Office software and lets us invest in systems to make sure you receive the best possible service from us.

For more info about booking fees (including when they don’t apply), click here.

How do I amend my booking?

OK, this is a three-part answer – stay with us.

If you’d like to make any kind of change to an order or your booking details, contact Box Office on 0151 709 3789 and they’ll do their best to sort it out for you.

If you can no longer attend a Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra concert, we won’t be able to refund you, but we can offer you an exchange. Get in touch with Box Office before the concert and they’ll chat you through the process. If you have a Concert Ticket Package, you’ll be able to exchange your tickets free of charge.

If you can’t make any other event, we’re sorry but the Phil can’t refund or exchange your tickets. Depending on circumstances, you may be able to claim on Booking Protect if you signed up when making your order – check here and then make your claim here. If the concert is sold out, we can resell the tickets on your behalf – just call Box Office and they’ll be able to tell you more.

I haven’t received my tickets yet – what do I do?

No problem – if you haven’t been sent your tickets three days before the event, call Box Office on 0151 709 3789. If you’re expecting e-tickets, double check your order confirmation email one more time – the tickets should be attached as a PDF.

Please make sure you let us know as soon as you can, so we can try and make sure you don’t miss out on the performance.

I’ve bought a ticket via a ticketing agency or third-party company – can you help?

We’re sorry but we’re not responsible for any ticket sales other than those through our own Box Office.

Help – I’ve lost my tickets!

Don’t panic! As soon as you realise they’re missing, call our Box Office on 0151 709 3789. It’s really important you let us know so that we can try and make sure you don’t miss out on the event.

Does my child/baby need a ticket?

Yes – for health & safety reasons, we need to make sure that every member of the audience has their own ticket. For Family Concerts, under 18 months are free and for our Under 5s Concerts, under 6 months are free – but you’ll still need to book those tickets in advance alongside your adult tickets.

I’ve never been to a classical concert before! What should I expect?

To have a great time! Our concerts are for everyone and are enjoyed by everyone – you don’t need to know loads about classical music at all. Just sit back, watch the Orchestra and conductor and enjoy the music – we guarantee it’ll move you and captivate you, and we know we’ll be seeing you again soon!

I think I lost something at an event – what shall I do?

We’ll do our best to help you find it! All lost property is taken to stage door on Caledonia Street – just pop in or call our Stage Door team on 0151 210 2895 and they’ll hopefully be able to track your lost item down and reunite you.

Do you have a cloakroom?

We do indeed. The cloakroom is in the foyer, on the left-hand side next to the stairs and it’s £1 per item you’d like us to look after. Just a heads up, we won’t be able to store large bags or suitcases, so you’ll need to leave those at home or stash them somewhere else.

Why might my bag be searched?

We carry out these searches to help keep our audiences, staff, performers and buildings safe.

Can I take photos or videos?

Great question – it depends…

For our Hall and Music Room concerts, we’d love you to capture any memories and special moments – just please make sure any filming or photography isn’t excessive and you don’t use the flash. We also have to mention that an event organiser might overrule that and request no photos – our stewards will let you know.

For Orchestra concerts, we’re sorry but filming and photography isn’t allowed at all.

Will I be able to dance?

We want you to have fun, and sometimes it’s fine for you to stand up and dance. If our staff notice that most people would prefer to sit down though, you may be asked to take a seat.

Will there be any special effects?

Sometimes – it really varies show to show. We’ll let you know whether to expect any special effects in the pre-concert email you’ll receive. If the event organiser only lets us know about any smoke, lighting effects or haze etc. on the day of the show, we’ll pop that information on the screens in the foyer – so keep an eye out as you arrive.

Do you have baby changing facilities?

Of course – just chat to one of our stewards if you need to use our baby changing facilities, and they’ll point you in the right direction.

Do you provide booster seats for children?

Unfortunately we don’t have any here, but you’re more than welcome to bring your own.
