About Romancing the Bass
Celebrating his twentieth anniversary with the Orchestra, double bass Section Leader Marcel Becker revisits works that marked a new chapter in his musical life.
Just before moving to Liverpool, Marcel recorded a selection of cherished pieces for double bass and piano – romantic and virtuosic gems of the double bass repertoire, some lovingly borrowed from the violin and cello repertoire. Two decades later, he brings them to life once again in a heartfelt and poignant performance.
