About Pulse Across Three Centuries
A programme of rhythm and movement with works by Philip Glass, Sıdıka, Scarlatti and John Adams
An exploration of rhythm and movement across centuries, from the hypnotic intensity of Philip Glass’ String Quartet No.5 and Sıdıka Özdil’s vibrant Dances for String Quartet to Scarlatti’s elegant Baroque sonata. John Adams’ lively, genre-blurring John’s Book of Alleged Dances will bring the evening to a close, reimagining the dance tradition for string quartet and recorded sound.
