Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Company is a family of nine ensembles – supporting over 500 young musicians aged 7-21.

Through weekly rehearsals, our participants learn a whole world of new music, develop their skills, and take part in exciting projects and performances alongside superstar artists including Sheku Kanneh-Mason, Jess Gillam and Youth Orchestra alumni Sir Simon Rattle and Linton Stephens.

For decades, Youth Company has been a home for local talent – of all genres, styles and backgrounds.

In fact, we’re so proud that now over 10% of our Youth Company members have come up through In Harmony Liverpool Philharmonic

We get to meet new friends from different schools, of different ages, but who all share a love of music. I have learned so much, not just about music but about myself. - Youth Choir member

Because we believe that finances should never be a barrier to music and creativity, we’re proud to offer 100% bursaries to aspiring local talent. So the region's young musicians can always come together and learn from the best.

And from there, the future is limitless. Youth Company alumni have gone on to perform in acclaimed ensembles all around the world, including right here at home in the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.

There is no feeling like being part of Youth Orchestra. It is by far the highlight of my week...making music with everyone is incredible. - Youth Orchestra violinist
