Tutto nel mondo è burla: “All the world’s a joke”. The final words of Verdi’s Falstaff bring down the curtain on one of the warmest and funniest comedies in all music. Sir Bryn Terfel’s portrayal of Shakespeare’s fat knight is one of the wonders of the operatic world – so what better way to mark his Liverpool residency than with this uproarious operatic re-imagining of The Merry Wives of Windsor, in an imaginative concert staging? Vasily Petrenko conducts a dynamic cast in an opera that’s basically three solid acts of laughter and joy.

Sung in Italian with English surtitles. This concert will last approximately 3 hours.
