Liverpool Philharmonic Hall
Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra
- Concert Music for Brass and Strings
- Piano Concerto No.1
- Symphony No.9 ‘From the New World’
- Vasily Petrenko
- Seong-Jin Cho
“Unequivocally brilliant” says one critic of the young Korean pianist Seong-Jin Cho. “Seemed to summon the spirit of Chopin from the air”declared another of this winner of the 2015 International Chopin Competition in Warsaw. So there probably isn’t a pianist on earthright now better-equipped to bring out all the poetry of the teenage Chopin’s ardent First Concerto! Vasily Petrenko frames it with Hindemith’s Concert Music for Brass and Strings, and Dvořák’s much-loved ‘New World' symphony for a whole concert of music that’s all about emotion.
