Shu Jiang and Luke Daniels

Shu Jiang is an ethnomusicologist and expert player of Chinese zithers (zheng and qin) with a special interest in the music of China. From a family of folk musicians she learned to play Chinese zithers - the 21-stringed zheng and 7-stringed qin - in her childhood. She worked as a full-time lecturer in Musicology at the Department of Music, Xiamen University, China and is now an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Sheffield. She has a particular interest in cross cultural exchange of East Asian music in the context of Western music and works alongside a range of composers and world musicians in the UK.

Luke Daniels is a multi-instrumentalist specialising in button accordion and melodeon and has enjoyed a long career collaborating with a range of artists and organisations as a means of promoting folk music.
