Unplugged in New York: A Tribute to Nirvana

Liverpool Acoustic are delighted to present a special concert featuring Mike Ryan and friends performing Nirvana’s classic album Unplugged in New York in its entirety, celebrating its 30th anniversary.

Released in 1994, Unplugged in New York captured Nirvana at their most stripped back and intimate, performing fan favourites alongside covers of songs by David Bowie and Lead Belly. Going on to win a Grammy, it is widely considered to be one of the greatest live albums of all time.

Mike Ryan is a Wirral-based singer-songwriter and two-time winner of the Liverpool Acoustic Songwriting Challenge Audience Favourite Award.

For this unique concert, Mike Ryan will perform Unplugged in New York in its entirety with the Teen Spirit Band, a collective of local musicians, including Mozin, Mike Eastaugh and Vickie Reid.

Faithfully recreating the album’s transcendental folk-rock, with arrangements that capture the sincerity and sensitivity of Nirvana’s original performance, the concert promises to be a celebration of one of the most important live recordings of all time.

Don’t miss this unforgettable evening of music, as Mike Ryan and The Teen Spirit Band pay tribute to the album that became a fitting epitaph to the genius of Kurt Cobain and Nirvana’s timeless songs.
