Hailed by Gilles Peterson as “one of his all-time favourite vocalists”, Mike Lindup is a cornerstone of Brit funk and jazz. As the founding member, vocalist, keyboard player and principal songwriter of Level 42, Mike helped shape some of the most enduring hits in pop music, including ‘Lessons in Love’ and ‘Something About You’. With six top ten singles and seven top ten albums, his influence spans decades. Alongside his work with Level 42, Mike has released four acclaimed solo albums and collaborated with artists such as Eric Clapton, Dominic Miller and Da Lata, firmly establishing his reputation as a world-class musician.
Following standout full-band performances at London’s Jazz Café and Union Chapel, Mike launched the Mike Lindup Trio, a focused live project rooted in the classic jazz trio format of keys, bass and drums. The trio brings together three exceptional musicians: Mike Lindup on keys and vocals, Yolanda Charles MBE on bass - internationally recognised for her work with Hans Zimmer, Paul Weller and B.B. King - and John Sam on drums, whose dynamic playing provides the trio’s rhythmic foundation.
