Admiral Fallow

Admiral Fallow (Louis Abbott, Kevin Brolly, Phil Hague, Sarah Hayes and Joe Rattray) released their much-beloved debut album Boots Met My Face in 2011, its widely-acclaimed successor Tree Bursts In Snow the following year, an extraordinary third record, Tiny Rewards, in 2015, and their captivating fourth studio album The Idea of You in 2021.

Their rich, brooding and colourful fifth LP First Of The Birds was released in October 2025, continuing the band’s partnership with legendary Glasgow label Chemikal Underground. Approaching their twentieth year as a band, Admiral Fallow have never made a record in the way they have here, and the resulting work finds a way of both defining and redefining the scope of the group in 2026 and beyond.

“Their dizzying, eclectic brew of folk, chamber pop, hushed lullabies, and post-rock is arguably a genre all of its own: the Admiral Fallow sound. Here is a band with rare skill. Call them what you like stylistically, they’re an act to treasure, one still ahead of and apart from the pack”.
