Domingo Hindoyan conductor
Nemanja Radulović violin
Serbian multi-award-winning violinist Nemanja Radulović is back in Liverpool with the most beloved concerto in the violin repertoire. Composed on the shores of Lake Geneva while he was recovering from a period of personal turmoil, Tchaikovsky’s uplifting Violin Concerto was written in just weeks thanks to a sudden burst of inspiration. Albert Roussel’s Third Symphony provides a powerful contrast with its ominous undertones and intense atmosphere. Meanwhile, literature and music are wonderfully wedded in Stravinsky’s colourful retelling of Hans Christian Andersen’s The Nightingale, and Paul Dukas’ arresting musical take on Goethe’s work-shy apprentice.
