Britten Four Sea Interludes from Peter Grimes
Bernstein Serenade for violin and orchestra
Dvořák Symphony No.8
Domingo Hindoyan conductor
Ning Feng violin
Chief Conductor Domingo Hindoyan leads today's programme, from the rural euphoria of Dvořák's Symphony No.8 to the shifting seascapes of Britten's Four Sea Interludes. Dvořák's symphony journeys to a countryside retreat in southern Bohemia, music that teems with life and reflects the changing rhythms and moods of the natural world that gave the composer so much inspiration and joy. We also take to the waves in Benjamin Britten's vivid, impressionistic portrait of the North Sea which, embracing the water's capricious nature, moves from being still and misty to turbulent and ferocious.
