Join the Asylum Link Choir, Choir with No Name and choirs from across Liverpool for Choir in a Day - a joyful day of singing, collaboration, and community.
Together, we’ll create a brand-new choir through collaborative workshops, learning songs throughout the day before coming together to share what we’ve created in a special 90-minute performance.
Asylum Link and Choir with No Name have been collaborating on an exciting three-year project to build community cohesion and celebrate the joy of singing together. Funded by Our Liverpool, the project responds to the violence, hostility and anger currently directed towards asylum seekers, refugees and people who are marginalised in our society.
Through singing and music, we’re creating opportunities to bridge divides in our neighbourhoods, strengthen our communities and celebrate our diverse musical heritage. We’re also challenging myths and misinformation and creating spaces for connection, understanding, and belonging.
Choir in a Day is the culmination of this year’s project activity, building on our monthly multi-choir workshops where singers have shared music, skills, and songs from across our communities.
The sharing will last approximately 90 minutes, with no interval.
