We're here for the next generation of composers too. The Rushworth Composition Prize commissions a new piece from an early-career composer from the North West. 

We offer expert guidance and support throughout the commission period – plus £1000 – and the piece is then premiered by our musicians. 

This support demonstrates our belief that classical music is a living, breathing, boundary-pushing art form. We know this prize is a landmark in a composer’s career. Not to mention a powerful stepping stone to future opportunities. Our previous winners have gone on to achieve great things. They've won Ivor Novello Awards, written music for the BBC Proms and forged careers that see their works performed all around the globe.
