Thursday 22 June - post concert question time starts 15 minutes after the end of the concert (Music Room). This is your last opportunity this season to join us in our postconcert question time, so come and ask Chief Conductor Vasily Petrenko and violinist Ray Chen your questions.

The White Nights are here, and in Russia, the sun shines all night long.We can’t promise that in Liverpool, exactly – but we can light up the sky with fireworks for the ears! Stravinsky’s Petrushka crackles withall the colours and noises of a Russian funfair, and Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto begins as a love song and ends in an all-night danceoff. Violinist Ray Chen stormed the Liverpool stage in 2014 and returns to get the party started, after Vasily Petrenko and the Orchestra don’t so much ignore the elephant in the room as boogie right on down with it in Stravinsky’s utterly daft and immensely enjoyable Circus Polka.
