Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Choir

Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Choir is an upper voices choir for young people aged 13-18 from in and around Liverpool.

The Choir regularly performs with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir in high-profile concerts and special events, including premieres of new commissions.

The Youth Choir’s repertoire covers a wide variety of musical styles including classical, jazz, folk, and world music. The Choir has been recognised as one of the top choirs at the Llangollen International Eisteddfod in previous years, and in July 2014 the Choir’s Director, Simon Emery, was awarded with the prize for the Most Inspiring Conductor. The Choir also performed at the London Olympics 2012 Closing Ceremony and for our Patron HM The Queen in 2008.

Applications for the 2017/18 season are now open, with auditions taking place in late Spring/early Summer 2017.

Applications are welcome from upper voices singers (sopranos, altos and trebles) who want to perform at the highest standard, learn new music with people their own age, and are committed to developing their singing and musical skills.

We suggest that singers are of grade 5+ standard with some experience of choral singing and sight reading.

Deadline for applications is Friday 31 March 2017.
