Giving Opportunities

The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic has a long and established history of gaining support from grant making Trusts and Foundations for its work both on the platform and in the wider community with its many outreach, education and participation projects.

The varied support we have historically received and continue to receive has been most gratefully received, particularly in our immediate post stabilisation period.  The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic owes a great debt of gratitude to many Trusts who have helped us to emerge as the financially sound and artistically challenging organisation it is today.

During the last season 54,000 young people participated in our Education and Participation programmes.  This work encompasses work with schools and schoolchildren both in the classroom and in the concert hall and work with community groups across the region.  This success story is one, which many Trusts and Foundations have chosen to support.

Support from Trusts and Foundations also helps us to plan and achieve our demanding annual concert performance schedule in Liverpool and other towns and cities across the United Kingdom.

We have also received Trust support for many of our International Tours, which have recently included visits to Malta, the Czech Republic and Spain.  With the arrival of Vasily Petrenko and Liverpool’s year as European Capital of Culture in 2008, more international touring is on the horizon.

Much of the pioneering new music composition we champion and commission is funded by Trusts and Foundations and we have recently been announced as the latest recipient of the PRS ‘Composer in the House’ award.

Trusts and Foundations have also supported us by way of adopting the seat of one of our talented musicians and supporting the appearances of individual soloists and conductors.
