Leave a Legacy

The music will live on with your good will – leaving a Legacy

The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic receives annual grants from Arts Council England, Liverpool City Council and a number of other public funding bodies. However, it must generate in the region of £4 million in earned income itself each year.

Legacies from individuals are an important element to this support and provide us with substantial resources to assist us in ensuring future generations continue to enjoy our music.

By making a Will you determine what will happen to your estate when you die. If you have not made a Will you will die ‘intestate’ and you cannot guarantee that your loved ones and that which was important to you will benefit from the proceeds of your estate. By making a Will or updating your existing Will, you can remember people and organisations and allocate your assets as you wish.

Have you considered leaving a gift to the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic?

You can choose whether your legacy would assist us generally or in a specific way, for instance by supporting our Education and Participation work, by adopting the chair of one of our musicians, or by supporting a specific concert. There are tax advantages to leaving legacies to charities which provide benefits in relation to inheritance tax.

Each year the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic holds a dedicated Legacy Memorial Concert and invites the friends and families of those from whom we have recently received a Legacy or Bequest. We also invite those who have informed us that the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic has been included within a Will they have recently made or amended.

In Memoriam Gifts

Each year the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic benefits from generous donations made by the relatives of loved ones who have passed away. The ‘In Memoriam’ gift is sometimes as a result of requesting donations instead of flowers at a Funeral or by wanting to make a dedicated gift in memory of a loved one.
