Asphalt Jungle - Marilyn Monroe & Louis CalhernTCM is delighted to sponsor the Philharmonic’s Classic Film series 2007 because it represents a unique celebration of the art of film.   Audiences can enjoy the 30 classic films shown over the year in a remarkable environment: the original Walturdaw screen is the only working screen of its kind and gives a truly authentic big screen experience.  The incredible art deco splendour of the Hall provides the perfect backdrop to give the cinematic experience an opulence and grandeur associated with classic Hollywood.

Alan Musa, TCM VP and Channel Manager, comments: “Working alongside the Liverpool Philharmonic gives TCM the opportunity to extend its activity throughout the UK, bringing classic films into the regions and communicating more directly with our viewers through exciting events. On a personal level I’m thrilled that we can support the Philharmonic, being Liverpool born and bred I’m tremendously proud of this great building and its dedication to the arts.

TCM (Turner Classic Movies) is a 24-hour cable, satellite and digital terrestrial channel, that celebrates the best 20th century movies, showing Hollywood’s finest from the ‘golden age’ to contemporary classics.  As well as the films themselves there’s an interview show OFF SET featuring movie stars, entertainers and directors.  Recent guests include Michael Douglas, Terry Gilliam, Christian Slater, Matthew Modine, Michael Caine, Anjelica Huston, Michael Madsen and Carrie Fisher.
