Pre-Concert Talks

Get behind the music with the Phil's pre-concert talks! Before a variety of Phil events you can come along and hear discussion of the concert's programme: composers detailing their inspiration, musicologists the musical context of a work, or a soloist illuminating some of the challenges faced in tackling a particular piece.

All pre-concert talks are at 6.30-7pm in the main auditorium and are free with any concert ticket. Many are chaired by BBC Radio Merseyside's Arts Correspondent Angela Heslop as well as a variety of eminent musicologists. The talks are recorded and you will be able to listen to them again here - if you subscribe for free to the Phil's YouTube channel you will be able to watch
10-minute edits of the talks with visuals.

As a YouTube subscriber you can watch all our videos and will receive notification on your YouTube account when the Phil uploads a new video. Signing up as a YouTube user is quick and simple so click here to sign up for free today, then just click on the 'Subscribe' button on the Phil's channel.
