Amanda Burvill - Clarinet

Mandy Burvill is the Phil's second clarinet player and E flat clarinet expert.  Mandy joined the Orchestra in 1999.

A. 7 years

Q. What was your earliest musical experience?
A. Crying (aged about 2) listening to Kermit singing 'It's not Easy Being Green'!

Q. Do you play any other instruments?
A. No

Q. If you could play a different instrument, which one would it be?
A. Cello

Q. What would you most like to do if you weren’t a musician?
A. Be an artist

Q. If you could take a recording of one piece of music to a desert island, what would it be?
A. Glenn Gould Goldberg Variations

Q. Which piece of music do you most enjoy playing?
A. Any Rachmaninov, Elgar or R Strauss, and Brahms chamber music

A. Eat and drink with friends or draw

A. Anywhere with my family, and good wine, cheese and weather
