Carol Bennett - Violin
Carol joined the Phil in January 2006 as a Second Violin section player and has recently been appointed as the Principal No.3 player with the section.
Q. How long have you been with the RLPO?
A. 13 months
Q. What was your earliest musical experience?
A. Asking my mum if I could join a cho-yer (couldn't pronounce choir!)
Q. Do you play any other instruments?
A. piano - badly
Q. If you could play a different instrument, which one would it be?
A. Surely everyone aspire's to play the viola?
Q. What would you most like to do if you weren’t a musician?
A. Would love to learn to cook really well
Q. If you could take a recording of one piece of music to a desert island, what would it be?
A. A big, slushy romantic symphony - maybe Rachmaninov 2
Q. Which piece of music do you most enjoy playing?
A. The above, or Mozart - which always puts me in a good mood
Q. Which personality (historical, musical or otherwise – living or dead!) would you most like to share a bottle of wine with?
A. Nigel Kennedy - or maybe someone who doesn't drink - then I get the whole bottle!
Q. Where’s your favourite place to eat/drink in Liverpool?
A. Drinking - Philharmonic Pub because it's close or Alma de Cuba because it's crazy. Eating - ...still searching for that top-notch curry house!
Q. What do you do to relax in your free time?
A. Free time?! It's got to be a nice walk in the country - just discovered the Lake District - will be visiting often.
Q. Where’s your favourite holiday destination?
A. Have yet to discover that paradise spot - any suggestions?!
