Andrew Cornall

Executive Director (Orchestra and Ensembles)

Andrew Cornall joined the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic in June 2004 from Decca Music Group, where he had been Senior Executive Producer since 1995.

Andrew was born in 1952 and attended Hull Grammar School between 1964-71. In 1975, he graduated from the University of Manchester with a B.Mus and the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester, as GRNCM and ARNCM. He gained a M.Mus from the University of East Anglia in 1976 and joined Decca in the same year.

At Decca, he held a variety of positions: Senior Staff Producer with additional responsibility for new repertoire initiatives – New Lines Series; Planning Co-ordinator involving logistical planning for all Decca’s national and international recording; General Manager of the Argo label; Director of Artists and Repertoire for the Decca label.

In 1994, he won a Grammy award for Classical Producer of the Year, and received nominations in the same category in 1991, 1993, 1995, 1997 and 2002.

He has been a panel member for the Fulbright-Schirmer Award to choose young composers to study in America, and in 2002/2003 he was a juror for the Masterprize competition.

Andrew is a negotiating member of the BPI Classical Committee and a member of the Royal Philharmonic Society.

Simon Glinn

Executive Director (Philharmonic Hall & Events)

Simon joined the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic as Director of Philharmonic Hall in March 2003 after having been the Executive Director of Roadmender in Northampton since 2001, a combined arts venue with a strong emphasis on contemporary music programming, which was undergoing ACE funded stabilisation.

From 1992 until joining Roadmender Simon worked independently on event, tour and project programming, production and safety management. He undertook production work on the Jazzworld Stage at the Glastonbury Festival from 1992 and from 1995 combined this with programming the stage at the Festival until 2000. He is the founder of the Sarajevo International Jazz Festival and has worked in both programming and production in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Mostar where he helped launch the Pavarotti Music Centre in Mostar.

Millicent Jones

Executive Director (Marketing, Communications and Fundraising)

Millicent re-located to the UK and joined the Phil in 2005 after spending five years as Director of Marketing with San Francisco Performances, that city's premiere presenter of chamber music, recitals, jazz and contemporary dance. Prior to that she worked as Marketing Director with Bournemouth Orchestras as well as the London Philharmonic Orchestra. She has also worked with Select Ticketing (now Tickets.com) as their UK Customer Services director. She received an MBA from the University of Michigan, whilst working with the University Musical Society, one of the top 5 performing arts presenters in the US. Her publications include Carreras, Domingo, Pavarotti: The Three Tenors (Bison Books, 1996) and Washington DC from the Air (Thunder Bay Press, 2000).

Peter Garden

Executive Director (Learning & Engagement)

Peter joined the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic in January 2008, having
been the Regional Adviser: Culture, Children & Young People for MLA
North West (Museums, Libraries and Archives) and Arts Council England
North West since March 2006.

Prior to working for MLA North West, Peter worked as both Music
Programme Manager and subsquently Head of Programmes for
children’s charity, 4Children. There, he was responsible for developing
and leading national and regional projects to increase access to
creative and cultural activities for children and families across England,
with various partners including BBC Worldwide, Youth Music, Sport
England and the Children’s Fund.

He has also worked for the music examination board, Rockschool Ltd,
developing music and social inclusion programmes in schools and
communities across London. As a freelance musician, Peter has
performed and toured with bands (rock, pop, ska) and musical theatre
in the UK and abroad.

Stephan Heaton

Executive Director (Finance)

Stephan Heaton joined the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic as Finance Director in February 2008. After training as a Chartered Accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, he specialised in forensic accounting, working on a multitude of financial disputes from breach of competition law, white collar crime to fatal accident claims.

Following leaving the profession, Stephan held senior finance positions finance positions including Financial Controller of Tepnel Life Sciences plc, an acquisitive Research & Development company, and more recently Financial Controller of Ascribe plc, a leading healthcare IT software provider.
