Family Concerts
A love of music is a wonderful gift to give to your children or grandchildren. The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic is proud to continue its series of Family Concerts, which have been presented for over two decades. These Sunday afternoon concerts last just over an hour - each concert has a theme and you're invited to join in with the festivites by wearing fancy dress. They are most suitable for children aged 4 – 10, but the whole family is welcome – fidgeting is allowed!
Two of the concerts (15 March and 10 May) are presented by Alasdair Malloy, helped by the Phil mascot Livvie the Liverbird, who leads the children on a themed musical journey, which incorporates familiar pieces and exciting new music. The musicians of the orchestra enter into the spirit by dressing up in weird and wonderful costumes which adds to the enjoyment of the event.
