Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Choir performs throughout the year at Philharmonic Hall and across the region. The choir regularly performs with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir and has recorded with Aled Jones, been broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and appeared on television and at the BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall.

The choir’s repertoire covers a wide variety of musical styles including classical, jazz, folk and world music, and several composers have written works especially for the ensemble.

Rehearsals

Rehearsals are held on Monday evenings during term-time, with additional rehearsals in the lead up to performances. Workshops are held during the year and there is also an annual residential course.

Fees

Membership of the Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Choir costs £45 annually. Residential course fees and uniform costs are additional. In cases of exceptional financial hardship, bursaries to help with these costs can be awarded.

Who can apply?

Membership is open to girls and boys (unbroken voices) aged between 12 and 18. You are not required to have passed singing exams or be taking singing lessons but if accepted into the choir we would recommend that you do find a singing teacher. You are expected to be able to read music.
