Andy Long - Violin

Andy Long plays Violin and is Assistant Leader of the RLPO.  He joined the Orchestra in March 2003. 

Q. How long have you been with the RLPO?
A. 3 and half years

Q. What was your earliest musical experience?
A. Hitting my spoon on my plate as a baby – rhythm incarnate!

Q. Do you play any other instruments?
A. No

Q. If you could play a different instrument, which one would it be?
A. Rockabilly Guitar

Q. What would you most like to do if you weren’t a musician?
A. Be a drug dog handler – I love springer spaniels

 

 

 

 

Q. If you could take a recording of one piece of music to a desert island, what would it be?
A. Twenty Flight Rock (Eddie Cochran)

Q. Which piece of music do you most enjoy playing?
A. Nothing on my violin but love conducting my 18 piece band – probably ‘These Foolish Things’
