Lorraine Rogers
Lorraine Rogers joined the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic as Chairman of the Board of Directors in January 2007, for an initial three-year term. She is the first woman to have held the position in Liverpool Philharmonic’s 166-year old history.
Ms. Rogers was born in Liverpool. She trained and qualified as a solicitor specialising in company law with London based lawyers, Stephenson Harwood, with whom she worked on major projects in China and New York. She worked for the Corporate Finance teams of Barclays de Zoete Wedd and Hambros Bank Limited before joining Tranmere Rovers FC as Non Executive Director in 1998. She was appointed Executive Chairman the following year.
During her tenure at Tranmere Rovers FC, Ms. Rogers stabilised the Club’s financial position, and developed successful commercial initiatives to attract more sponsorship income and younger supporters and families. Over 30% of the club’s match attenders are now 16 years old or younger.
Ms. Rogers is an active figure in the region’s arts, cultural and media life. She is Director of Culture Northwest and Chairman of Business Link for Greater Merseyside. In 2004, she was appointed by the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport as a Trustee of National Museums Liverpool, one of the world’s finest museum services. She has been Non-Executive Director of Radio City since 2000.
