Petrenko reprises what many consider t0 be Shostakovich’s greatest work, his Symphony No. 10, which won Petrenko and the Orchestra the 'Orchestral Recording of the Year' in the 2011 Gramophone Awards . Tchaikovsky’s bold and effusive Piano Concerto No. 1, arguably one of the best known piano concertos in the repertoire, completes the evening.
