Press Release

Immediate: 30 March 2011

The Music Section of the Critics’ Circle today announces that its 2010 Awards for Exceptional Young Talent are being made to the soprano Sophie Bevan, the violinist Alina Ibragimova and the conductor Robin Ticciati.

The awards have been newly instituted this year to acknowledge and celebrate the artistry of musicians up to the age of 30 who have made a particular impact in the United Kingdom during the previous twelve months, through live performances, recordings or both.

Geoffrey Norris, Classical Music critic for The Telegraph, and Chairman of the Music Section of the Critics’ Circle, will present the award to Alina Ibragimova during her upcoming concert with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. The concert on Thursday 26 May features a programme of Mozart Violin Concerto No. 4 in D major and Mahler Symphony No. 7 with Vasily Petrenko conducting.

A press release with more details about the award is available in the Downloads section on this page.
