Liverpool Philharmonic, one of the UK’s most forward-looking music organisations.

Help us inspire the next generation of music lovers

Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of our audience and supporters, the first year of A Bright Future Through Music raised over £20,000 and enabled 1,972 children from 21 schools across Liverpool, Knowsley and Preston to attend our Schools' Concerts for the first time in Spring 2011.

For 2012, we want to do even better - with your support we can strengthen these new relationships, and encourage even more schools through the doors of Liverpool Philharmonic Hall to hear our world class orchestra perform.

Schools' Concerts at Liverpool Philharmonic are an inspirational introduction to live orchestral music for children and young people. They are designed to enhance and enrich the music and wider school curriculum, whilst providing a fun experience and broadening horizons. Quality music making with leading professionals can inspire children and young people. It can be the spark that ignites imagination, raises ambition and contributes to improved achievement.

"My head was in an exotic world because of the music vibrating into my ears. That was the day, the best day ever - the day that I enjoyed"
School Child, Key Stage 1, June 2011

For thousands of children in Liverpool and the North West, attending a concert at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall with their school will be the first time they experience the thrill of a live symphony orchestra. Since the 1940s, when Sir Malcolm Sargent first pioneered a concert series for schools with the Orchestra, our Schools' Concerts have become a central part of our artistic and learning programmes. Many of our loyal and dedicated supporters, who first attended with their school, will know the lifelong pleasure and enjoyment that this first introduction to music can bring.

You can help inspire the next generation of music lovers by making an annual donation to our Bright Futures Through Music campaign.

A donation of £250 could provide one school with a complimentary first experience of a Schools' Concert, whilst a donation of £20 could give one child their first experience of live classical music.

Help us to bring the incredible sound of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra to many more children across the North West by supporting the second year of A Bright Future Through Music.
